A Note from Catie Cooper, Founder and Chairman of Movement for Huntington's & HIIT HD Back

This year holds a very special place in my heart. It will be my last time hosting Movement for Huntington’s at the University of Oregon, as I prepare to graduate and begin a new chapter in life.

When I started this event as a freshman, I had just experienced the most unimaginable heartbreak—losing my mom to Huntington’s Disease. What began as a way to honor her memory and raise awareness quickly turned into something much bigger than I ever anticipated.

Over the past three years, I’ve witnessed a community come together with love, compassion, and an overwhelming sense of purpose. You’ve shown up—not just for me, but for every family affected by Huntington’s. You’ve helped me turn pain into purpose. This journey has moved me more deeply than I can put into words.

It's hard to explain how bittersweet it feels to host this event one last time in the place where it all began. I’m beyond grateful for every person who has walked beside me—whether you’ve attended the class, bid in the auction, donated, or simply shared a kind word.

Thank you for helping me build something that truly matters. Your support has helped families feel seen, given strength to those in the fight, and kept my mom’s legacy alive through movement, love, and community.

Let’s make this year the most powerful one yet. Come move with us, celebrate with us, and continue standing with those affected by Huntington’s Disease.

With endless gratitude,
Catie Cooper
